Lisu Tea Cosy
This item will be a very original tea cosy on your table! It is a product from Thai Tribal Crafts, a self-help marketing agency established since 1973 in Chiang Mai and whose main goal is to provide opportunities for improving the quality of life of the tribal people in Northern Thailand.
The pattern of this tea cosy has been crafted in the Lisu tribal community. The Lisu have about 28,000 members living in Thailand.
This tea cosy reflects the traditional pattern used by the Lisu people. Indeed, they make vibrant colored patchwork cloth items and the Lisu outfits are decorated with bands of many bright colours.
After the production of the traditional pattern in the village, raw materials are given to women in Chiang Mai who assemble the cloths and materials and finish the products. This process of production with skilled and trained men and women at each step ensures high-quality products.
