Lisu Cushion Cover
This original handcrafted cushion cover will be a beautiful accessory in your house! It is a product from the range offered by Thai tribal Crafts, a self-help marketing agency established in 1973 with the main goal to provide opportunities for improving the quality of life of the tribal people in Northern Thailand.
We have two types of cushion covers: some are made with cotton with the traditional Lisu pattern in the middle, and other ones have been made with velvet and silk. All patterns have been crafted in the Lisu tribal community. The Lisu have about 28,000 members living in Thailand. They make vibrant colored patchwork cloth items and the Lisu outfits are decorated with bands of many bright colours.
After the production of the traditional pattern in the village, raw materials are given to women in Chiang Mai who assemble the cloths and materials and finish the products. This process of production with skilled and trained men and women at each step ensures high-quality products.
When you buy this handcraft, 60% of its price goes to the craftsmen. You will enjoy the use of this cushion cover and its quality, and at the same time have the satisfaction of knowing that this purchase will help the Lisu tribe to raise its standard of living.
