Thai Tribal Crafts is a self-help marketing agency established in Chiang Mai since 1973 with the main goal to provide opportunities for improving the quality of life of the tribal people in Northern Thailand.

This vest has been crafted in the Lawa tribal community. The Lawa live in villages in two provinces in the North of Thailand and have a population of about 16,000 people.
Lawa people make beautiful silver work and black hand-woven cloth with tie-dye designs. Therefore, this vest reflects the traditional pattern used for the Lawa products. This handicraft production enables them to support their families, and helps to restore and revive their traditional craft work.
