The pattern of this item has been crafted in the Lawa tribal community. The Lawa live in villages in two provinces in the North of Thailand and have a population of about 16,000 people.
Lawa people make beautiful silver work and black hand-woven cloth with tie-dye designs. Therefore, this item reflects the traditional pattern used for the Lawa products. This handicraft production enables them to support their families, and helps to restore and revive their traditional craft work.
After the production of the traditional pattern in the village, raw materials are given to women in Chiang Mai who assemble the cloths and materials and finish the products. This process of production with skilled and trained men and women at each step ensures high-quality products.
